The English word sugar comes from a Sanskrit word \u2018<em>sharkara<\/em>\u2019 for the refined sugar, while the word candy comes from Sanskrit word \u2018<em>khaanda\u2019,\u00a0<\/em>for the unrefined sugar which is one of the simplest raw forms of sweet.
