Though this is a festival celebrated with pomp and glory all around Maharashtra, it is known with different names across the country. In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, it is known as Ugadi while in Punjab it is known as Baisakhi.<\/p>\n<p>On this day, people celebrate by making rangoli outside their houses and by putting a special gudi flag from their homes. This is to ward off evil and to bring in prosperity and good luck to the household. This tradition is mostly followed by Maharashtrian families.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celebrating Gudi Padwa with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kailashsweets.com\/\">Shrikhand and Matha<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Generally, people make shrikhand and puri on this auspicious day.\u00a0 However, it is not compulsory that you always have shrikhand with puri on this day.
